Here Is A Guide On How To Prepare The Perfect Avocado Toast.

How To Pick An Avocado

The key to making the perfect avocado toast is selecting ripe avocados, not overripe ones. Avocado color is not always a reliable indicator of ripeness. To check if an avocado is ripe, apply gentle pressure to the palm of your hand.

Selecting The Right Bread

In my opinion, nothing beats the deliciousness of avocado toast on thickly sliced whole-grain bread. It’s the perfect combination of healthy and tasty! Achieving the idea of toast is crucial for a solid foundation for the avocado spread. The contrast between the crispy toast and smooth avocado is heavenly. I usually use hearty, whole-grain bread because it’s always in my pantry, but this tastes great on any bread! Sourdough is my favorite, but whole wheat, white bread, and even bagels are delicious.

The Best Way to Prepare Your Avocado

1. Cut the avocado lengthwise around the seed, rotating the fruit until you’ve made a complete circle.

2. Twist the two halves of the avocado in opposite directions to separate them.

3. Remove the seed by gently prying it out with a spoon or knife.

4. Scoop the flesh out of each half with a spoon. Use a fork to mash it.

Don’t Skip Salt And Lemon

I prefer to season the avocado inside the skin to enhance its flavor before scooping it onto the bread. This technique adds brightness and makes the flavors pop.

Variation For Avocado Toast

Avocado toast with different toppings

I enjoy experimenting with different ways to eat avocado and toast! My personal favorites are listed below.

  • One of my favorites is topped with sliced cherry tomatoes and a sprinkle of feta cheese.
  • Another tasty variation is adding a poached egg on top for a protein boost.
  • Thinly sliced onions and smoked salmon on top of avocado and toast,
  • Spread mashed avocado on toast and top with Everything Bagel seasoning.
  • For a sweet twist, try spreading out some almond butter on the toast before adding mashed avocado and a drizzle of honey. Yum!
