Gajrela is a traditional and immensely popular winter dessert in Pakistan. It is made with grated carrots, rice, and milk, and garnished with nuts. This super delicious classic dessert is traditionally served at weddings and special occasions, and it never fails to impress as a showstopper.
What Exactly Is Gajrela?
Gajrela is one of the most popular and traditional desserts in Pakistan and India. In Pakistan, the winter season is considered the best time to prepare this delightful dessert made from grated carrots and milk.. The dish, commonly known as “Gajrela,” is a traditional dessert that has been enjoyed for generations. The recipe involves grating fresh and juicy carrots and cooking them in milk with a blend of aromatic spices, such as cardamom. The mixture is usually simmered until it thickens, transforms into a rich and creamy pudding, and is garnished with chopped nuts. Everyone loves this winter delicacy.
Difference Between Gajrela And Gajar Ka Halwa
Gajrela is a semi-liquid base where you don’t dry the milk, so it cooks faster than gagar ka halwa. Gajar ka halwa, on the other hand, is a dry version (bhuna hua) made by simmering carrots in milk and sugar until completely dried and then adding khoya at the end.
