This simple and refreshing watermelon punch recipe is ideal for the summer. Made with simple ingredients, this is sure to cool you down! A refreshing drink made with fresh watermelon, raspberry lemonade, and Sprite.

It is ideal for entertaining, brunch, picnics, or BBQ parties, and it is extremely hydrating! This fizzy summer drink is kid-friendly; I made it a few years ago and it was a hit with my family.

TIPS FOR SELECTING THE PERFECT WATERMELON

  • Watermelon should sound hollow when you knock.
  • Watermelon should be heavy for its size.
  • Watermelons develop a splotch where they rest on the ground. When this splotch is creamy yellow, it’s ripe.

How Is A Watermelon Punch Made?

  • Slice the watermelon and remove the seeds and rind
  • Place the melon pieces in a blender along with a few mint leaves
  • Add freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Blend until it’s smooth and no chunks remain.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups watermelon chunks with seeds removed (about 1.5 lb)

  • 1 cup chilled Sprite, ginger ale, or 7-Up

  • 1 cup chilled raspberry lemonade

  • 8 10 mint leaves

  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Directions

  • Cut the watermelon and remove the seeds.
  • Puree the watermelon, lemon juice, and mint leaves in a food processor until smooth.
  • In a large punch bowl or jug, mix together the watermelon juice and raspberry lemonade, and keep refrigerated.
  • Stir in ginger ale or Sprite before serving.
  • Give the punch a little stir to combine.
  • Serve chilled over crushed ice with fresh mint leaves and lemon wedges.

Notes

  • Raspberry lemonade can easily be substituted with your favorite fruit juice.
  • You can use either Sprite, ginger ale, 7 Up, or sprinkling water.
